Great Romanian Language Book.. Options

Hi guys...I found this book on ebay and bought it (as I do when I find something that I hope will help my langauge issues!)..

It's the best thing I have found so far..it's written by an American that lived in Romania for 10 years. The thing that has helped me the most
is that he uses alot of simple exercise's for those of us whose native tongue is English. My Moldovan teacher is BRILLIANT but because she
is a native speaker of Romanian and Russian there are 'brain issues' that she can't help me with !

I found the book on ebay... it's not meant to be a total language program, but it's a wonderful aid to my weekly lessons and all the other sources
I use to learn Romanian....

Thanks, it looks like something that would be helpfull to me. I am a language "junkie" and I have no problem finding lots of Russian material. Romanian is quite a bit harder to find. I tried a search for the title and the author without any luck. Could you provide more info?

She's happy with anything that helps me Marisha ! We basically converse in my lessons...I'll go over things that I am studying and then we talk.....it's nice to be finally able to begin to converse without thinking after 18 months of lessons...... I'm a slow learner but still loving every minute of it !

I'm planning my trip to Romania and Moldova in January...looking forward to seeing my friends in Chisinua again.....

I hope to be better prepared for the cold this time !

Glad to hearing about your success! It took my husband 2 and something years to learn Russian and he is still finding hard to understand my parents. I suppose, Russian is more complicated language.

You never know how the January will turn up to be in Moldova! The weather is so unpredictable in the last few years.

yep..thats not hard to believe....accents/langauge speed etc can really mess you up ! My teachers son was in the US for a few months..so every time I went around for my lesson he would speak in Moldovan/Romanian, much to the annoyance of his mother.....it got to be quite funny the two of them speaking to each other in two langauges, if you can call Moldovan/Romanian a language !

I suppose, Russian is more complicated language.

every time I say 'Romanian is so complicated' she replies with 'well, you need to try Russian then !' haha.......

You never know how the January will turn up to be in Moldova! The weather is so unpredictable in the last few years.

I think I will take the train this time if possible....

I reckon at the rate I am learning it will take me another 2 years to really become a 'little' fluent....I guess I am not doing to bad considering I don't get to
speak the language but one time a week....
