I've been living and working in Moldova for the last three and a half years. I wasn’t looking for a wife, but I met a wonderful Moldovan girl and we recently became engaged.

We are both serious about our faith (me: Protestant; her: Orthodox) but are also ecumenical and recognize we serve the same God. Before becoming engaged I searched for information about the permissibility of Orthodox/Protestant marriage. Most of the information I found was from the Greek Orthodox church which says it is permissible.

Now that we are making wedding plans, it is proving difficult to find an Orthodox priest who will marry us.

I know there are several people on the forum who are married to Moldovan’s. Did you have an Orthodox church wedding? If so, where and what were the conditions.
Thanks

Hi there,

I am a catholic and didnt have a problem getting married.
Just tell the priest if he doesnt marry you, you will not baptise the babies...........thats how it is done.
Give him 500 leu and he will marry you for sure.....money talks.

Good luck
