I was booking a flight and noticed I could get a flight with Aerosvit going via Odessa to Chisinau. I didn't beleive it espeically as it took 4 hours, so I looked in to it more. Seems they are offering a bus from Odessa to Chisinau for 229USD. I'm guessing they are hoping to get Americans to fly into Moldova via Ukraine and offering it cheaper than flying into Chisinau. But for a single trip it costs more than a taxi.

Odessa to Chisinau

Flight 1 Wednesday, December 09, 2009
Departure: 18:00 Odessa, Ukraine - Odessa Central
Arrival: 22:00 Chisinau, Moldova - Chisinau

Airline: Aerosvit Airlines VV1436 e Aircraft: Bus

Fare type: Economy Restricted

Legend:e = e-ticket option, USD = U.S. Dollarprice

travellers flights taxes
1 adult(s) x (55.00 + 174.40) = 229.40 USD
sub total 229.40 USD
reservation fee +5.00 USD

total for all travellers 234.40 USD

There are plenty of busses from Odessa to Chisinau and you will also find some private cars. The bus is about 20 USD as Possum said. Be sure if your not travelling with a local to get the bus Via Palanka in the south to avoid going through the Transnistra.

Hey Ben. It will be a private car / minibus from Odessa airport to Chisinau. But I am surprised about the cost you found. Ecoturnova does this transfer for 50 Euro one way. They have a car at 16:00 and 18:00 daily. The car goes via Palanca border crossing. See www.ecoturnova.md for details or get in touch with them regarding this transfer (i requested this information about 6 months ago, so may be their price list has changed since)

Yes I know its too much! The point was it was available as a "flight" on www.opodo.com. I assume if you fly from the states you maybe able to get a good price that flys via Odessa to Chisinau. Of course the last leg of the flight would be a bus! (and it was a bus not a private car!).

I did not find such information on Ecoturnova website and opodo.com.

Maybe you should not look on the site of an travelagency but on a CRS such as amadeus.net.

And there this connection is shown as an
Aerosvit flight and takes four hours from ODS to KIV.

VV1440 ODS-KIV 1630 - 2030

The "flite" operates seven times a week.

A little bit more research will show you the fare.

Hope that helps

J.
